From Bastrop to Austin and north to Killeen, the Central Texas Division of Centex Homes has enjoyed phenomenal growth since arriving in Austin in 1983.  Each year we build over 1,200 homes for families in the Austin and Killeen area, and over 30,000 homes nationwide.

Foundation:

Centex Homes’ Central Texas Division is an autonomous part of Fortune 250, Dallas-based Centex Corporation, which has been building for over 50 years.  Centex is one of the nation's leading and largest homebuilders, operating in more than 90 markets in 26 states. While this experience and financial strength of Centex provide the foundation for the Central Texas Division, it’s the select neighborhoods that frame the homes built by the company. 

The Framing:

Centex doesn’t just build good homes. It builds communities.  We design and develop many of the neighborhoods in which we build. This allows us to cost effectively include the amenities that give a neighborhood the feeling of community.  Having our own Land Development team, we focus on not just building homes, but on developing neighborhoods with parks, pools and other recreational facilities in areas that have excellent schools and offer convenience to employment and shopping opportunities.  We are now developing multi-tiered neighborhoods where, for example, first-time home buyers will be able to move up to their second home as their needs change, yet stay in the same community, thus avoiding severing ties with familiar faces, such as friends, doctors and baby-sitters.

Community:

Centex Homes believes in giving back to the community. Since 1999, Centex Homes has donated more than $4 million to support The Nature Conservancy efforts to protect some of the most precious natural places in the world, such as the Dolan Falls Preserve right here in Texas.

The Central Texas division has joined other Centex divisions across the United States to help contribute over $10 million in support of Habitat for Humanity. 

Communication:

Whether it’s your first home or you need more space for your growing family, we understand today’s homebuyers want to be involved in the process.  Once a month we offer a free homebuyer’s orientation. These one-hour seminars walk the homebuyer through the entire building process, providing information as to what can be expected at each stage of construction. In addition to the seminar, each buyer will receive a homeowners’ manual that explains the home-buying process and answers the most frequently asked questions about construction, mortgage, financing and so on.  There is also a section that offers maintenance tips and provides suggestions that homeowners can do to maintain the beauty of the home.

Design:

The autonomy enjoyed by our division allows us to adapt quickly to the needs of the customer or changes in the market.  Decisions are made locally, which gives us the ability to change plans to reflect the demands dictated by our customers.
