Centex Homes
Dallas/Fort Worth

Founded in Dallas in 1950, Centex has played a major role in building our hometown community. We’ve built and sold well over 100,000 homes in the Dallas/Fort Worth market alone, more than any other builder. No builder in Dallas has won more awards for design, quality, and performance.

The secret to our success? We listen to our customers. The result is Centex innovation: we pioneered the master-planned community (The Colony), we were first to place utilities and phone lines underground, and were first to engineer homes for central air conditioning. Our customers are invited to be part of the process, as we discuss with them every stage of construction.

We deliver more choices for the way you want to live, choices of style, size, and features that make your new home uniquely yours. Our neighborhoods boast the kind of amenities that enhance and reflect your lifestyle and build community rather than just homes. And all these ideas came from simply listening to our customers.

Today Centex, which is consistently named by Fortune magazine as one of “America’s Most Admired Companies” in the home building industry, presently operates 32 neighborhoods in Dallas/Fort Worth. Each is especially designed to provide the most value and the greatest satisfaction. And they do!

Fox and Jacobs
Dallas/Fort Worth

After building its first home in Carrollton, Texas, in 1947, Fox & Jacobs Homes quickly became one of the major volume homebuilders in America. The dominant Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) builder was building more than 6,000 homes per year at its peak in the Texas market alone. The original Fox & Jacobs Homes was purchased in 1972 to join Centex Homes.

By the early 1990s, tens of thousands Fox & Jacobs homes had been built in the Metroplex. In 1997, as a new division of Centex Homes, Fox & Jacobs opened its first neighborhood, The Legends of McKinney, in McKinney, Texas. This new operating model became wildly successful in DFW during the succeeding years, and Centex Homes has since rolled out the model and brand name nationally.

Fox & Jacobs Homes became a very popular brand in the Dallas-Fort Worth market by offering value-oriented buyers a no-nonsense alternative, emphasizing value, solid construction, low maintenance, efficiency of operation and security without “unnecessary” extras automatically priced into the homes.

Fox & Jacobs has continued to evolve into the 21st Century as a very successful brand of Centex Homes, offering innovative new designs and customer-friendly floor plans. But its mission has remained the same: offering homebuyers quality homes with solid construction, low maintenance, efficiency and security at an affordable price.
