| Our story begins with Centex Construction Company, which was founded in Dallas, Texas, in 1950 as a residential and commercial builder. From the beginning, we’ve been on the leading edge of technological advances in construction. In 1969, the company went public as Centex Corporation. In December 1971, we were listed on the New York Stock Exchange (symbol: CTX). Centex Homes subsequently became a separate business unit dedicated to residential construction. Today, Centex Homes is the largest segment of Centex Corporation, whose related business lines include mortgage and financial services, home services and commercial construction. These businesses provide operational or financial support to home building operations and are leaders in their respective industries. |

Locally, Centex Homes Sarasota has been building neighborhoods since 1988 covering a vast area from Parrish to North Port. Homebuyers will experience diversity in our product line from single-family homes, garden villas, paired villas, town homes, terrace homes and active adult communities.
Centex Homes reinvests in the communities we’ve help build through three main national philanthropic programs that give back to the land, home and people. In 2005, the Centex Homes Land Legacy Fund (http://www.centexhomes.com/LegacyFund) was established with an initial $1 million investment to expand the company’s land conservation efforts, which have saved more than 18,000 acres of critical habitat through contributions totaling more than $5 million over the past six years; Habitat for Humanity International (www.habitat.org), which promotes home ownership for low-income families; and the National Housing Endowment, (www.nationalhousingendowment.com), which offers scholarships to students studying construction sciences.
